9MM ? that's still a lot more than he got the first time.
If I were Ruiz, I'd got for it and try to prove that he can keep the belt and it wasn't a fluke, IF he can. If not then he still got 9MM that would buy him Eleventy Billion SNICKERS

It's pretty simple really. Ruiz was a voluntary opponent who made a career high payday and actually won, brilliant for him and his family, so good on him!

The rematch clause was present, he agreed to it and it is what it is. Dont like it, then dont take the rematch, get sued, dont box for a year or so and lose all the belts whilst balls deep in litigation. All the while the belts go free to whoever wants to challenge for them and Joshua likely picks one or all of them up without having to fight the rightful owner (in Ruiz) again. I think scenario 'A' makes best sense. Take the money, take the fight, beat Joshua again then start making the financial demands. Even if Ruiz wins again, he'll likely never make this much again unless his popularity soars, but the way he looks is a hard sell to the casual fan.

Madness that people are criticising Joshua/Hearn for this

Ruiz signed a contract for the opportunity of a lifetime, financially and career wise god forbid big bad Eddie actually asks him to follow through with what he agreed and have him making a ton of money in the process

I like Ruiz but I haven’t been a fan of the way he’s been a lil b**ch about taking the rematch during the whole process
