This content is protected Hello everybody, I'd just like to put out an official notice for everyone to keep a lookout on this guy! He is good, and I mean good! He Won the 2008 National Golden Gloves and was matched up with the 2007 defending champion in the first round of the tournament! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXQlU-hYTXE[/ame] Azea Augustama competed in the 2008 Olympics and got ROBBED! It was ugly. The judges definitely screwed him over. Here is a few neutral opinions that were watching the fight live: http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=87364&p=1325169&hilit= This guy really hit the nail on the head: Augustama represented Haiti in the Olympics. . . He competed in international competition a lot, and it seems to be very true that if you're from a small country you'll never get a nudge in Amateur Boxing. His fight at the 2007 Pan American games was probably the biggest robbery I've ever seen in my life. It was up there with Roy Jones in the Olympics. Azea was murking this guy all night and they gave it to his opponent 7-1. I was in absolute shock watching Azea practically snap this guy's neck backwards on multiple occasions and not get points for it. Beating up the body too! He is 4-0 as a pro right now. Inbetween the Olympics and his Pro Debut he caught a pretty bad Shoulder Injury, his first 2 Pro fights it was still pretty messed up. It's fully healed up now though. His 2nd Pro Fight his opponent was so much bigger than him it was ridiculous! The fight was at 175 and the guy missed weight by 17 Pounds! In the opponent's previous fight he weighed in at 207. They agreed on some type of catch weight. I watched the tape and it was hilarious watching Augustama fight this guy that towered over him in height and mass! Augustama pounded the hell out of him and even dropped him but couldn't finish him off for good. His 3rd Pro Fight is interesting. Augustama's brother Eli Augustama is signed to Richie Boy Promotions, and this other guy Chris Rudd who is 10-0 is signed to Richie Boy too. Richie Boy had Eli and Chris' brothers fight each other. Victor Rudd was making his Debut but he had like 50 Amateur Fights or something. It made for a good match that Azea ended up Winning in the 2nd. So far as a Pro he's fought limited opposition but he's just taking whatever he can get. Augustama's having a real hard time getting fights. Winning the Golden Gloves and competing in the Olympics makes it pretty hard to get fights! Augustama wants a couple more fights before he signs with a promoter and no promoter's gonna bring him in as an opponent! For very obvious reasons!... So basically he's just fighting whoever and whenever he can! He's fought the best of the best in the Amateurs. . . He's also got the best Sparring you can possibly get too! Andre Dirrell, Bernard Hopkins, Glen Johnson, Jean Pascal, David Haye, Arthur Abraham, Jermain Taylor, etc.. Hopkins just flew Augustama up to Philly for 3 weeks to help prepare for the Enrique Ornelas fight. Azea has 2 brothers who are also Pro. Emmanuel Augustama 2-0 and Eli Augustama 5-1. . . I've seen lots of articles mix them up. One thing you guys might find interesting is Azea Augustama is actually 5-0 as a Pro in MMA too! http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Curtis-Harks-6687 He was on some Haiti Amateur Team so he had to use a fake name. He couldn't fight for Money or they'd of thrown him off the team. If you look at the other fights on these cards you can see Augustama didn't work alone! One guy used the name Dick Tiger, named after his favorite Boxer, another put together the names Sandy Saddler and Edwin Rosario to come up with Sandy Rosario LOL! How did Augustama come up with his name? The first guy to ever beat him in the Amateurs was Shawn Hawk, the second was Curtis Stevens. He put their names together! Yeah the "Hawk" was changed to "Harks" but that's where the influence came from! I predict Azea Augustama as World Champion by 2012! Prospect of the year in 2011! Yall wait and see!
