The principles in the main event have lost once apiece; "Chuko" Díaz managing to drop sturdy world-rates Californian southpaw Chon Zepeda once before succumbing to a knockout in the 5th, and "Rocknrollero" Torres getting KO1 blitzed at the hands of fringe contender and lights-out puncher Ricardo Antonio "El Científico" Núñez Pérez of Panama.

    Round 1

Díaz is pouring leather all over the diminutive but stockily built pompadoured southpaw. Torres standing his ground, countering with big left uppercuts and right hooks, at one point causing Díaz to double over from an exchange but getting put down by accumulation not long thereafter. Díaz just mauling him from medium-long range with that spindly reach, piling on shots with his wiry strength making Torres' head snap on a swivel.

10-8 Díaz, hard-fought in spots but ultimately dominant

    Round 2

Torres is reaching with the stubby right jab but Díaz is able to play keep-away, drifting nearly into a corner to bait Torres in and then sawing at his face with triple jabs and short looping rights, often landing with inner forearm more than fist, just roughing Torres up. Longer legs and arms really making the difference here for Díaz, along with cleverer instincts, stepping in, getting off a few bursts and then riding the tide to where Torres' T-Rex arms can't follow.

    10-9 Díaz

    20-17 Díaz

    Round 3

Díaz giving Torres a bit of a boxing lesson, slumping his posture a bit at times, surrendering the height advantage while lulling Torres in with light rowing-oar jabs pushed out repetitively, only to sally forth with quick punishing hooks or rights on the jaw or cricket hop away to make Torres lunge and miss.

    10-9 Díaz

    30-26 Díaz

Interesting. The commentator has given Torres both of the rounds he didn't get dropped in (2 & 3, both very clear Díaz rounds IMO)

Azteca has a Twitter poll for each round; for R3 of 39 votes, 56% (or 22 respondents) saw Elvis winning it, 41% (16 viewers) said Díaz and 3% (1 person) said empate.

"Chuko" Díaz is the gangly fellow in black and red. "Rockanrollero" Torres is the southpaw in white.

Azteca Siete's commentator and the fans on Twitter now have Rockanrollero with three on the spin, and nosing out to a narrow lead after that rocky start in the 1st.

Low blows galore in the fifth. This ref seems overwhelmed.
