How would he do against fighters like
    Tony Canzoneri
    Kid Chocolate
    Lou Ambers
    Jimmy McLarnin
    Barney Ross
    Frankie Klick
    Fidel LaBarba
    Jackie Kid Berg
    Baby Arizmendi
    Billy Petrolle
    Al Singer
    Benny Bass
    Bud Taylor

I´m pretty sure I forgot some. How would Azumah do there?

Reckon he'd lose to slick cats like Canzoneri, Ross, Chocolate. Then again his physical strength may make up for it, maybe he'd be able to do what Armstrong did to Ross.

Out of the elite guys of that era (canzoneri, Ross, McLarnin and Chocolate) I favour him best against Canzoneri.

Hm, do you mean you favour him against Canzi or that he has the best chances against him?

How would he do against Lou Ambers?

I don't know specifically how Nelson would have done against some of those guys, but something tells me Azumah would have been pretty good in just about any era.

In a trilogy I think Nelson could get the upperhand, he was strong as hell, a strong puncher and kept the pace and pressure high.

Canzoneri looked to get into mid-range and counter-punch, he looked to force the pace abit and force a lead before countering. I think Nelson has the strength to be able to not let Canzoneri put any pressure on and keep the pace high enough to make it hard to counter.

Although Canzoneri could counter and move it was not his usual style and Nelson (as McGrain has highlighted numerous times) is a brilliant pressure fighter and good at keeping pressure on.

I don't know too much on Ambers but what I do know is that if Nelson can push him back (which I think he could) he would win. As Ambers was a bit of a whirlwind, but what I have seen of Ambers is a guy who moves really well.
