Nelson's actually done that in a few of his fights though, especially in fights where he was troubled by his opponent's strength and pressure. He backtracked the same way in the late rounds of his first fights each against Mario Martinez and Jeff Fenech. He also got on his toes and boxed a few rounds against Wilfredo Gomez, although he largely dominated that fight any way he fought.
