Chavez breaks him down and stops him late. Azumah was warrior, but his style would play directly into Julio's hands.
130 would be the best weight to have this fight, where it's a close call. At 135 I'd take a prime Chavez over a past prime Nelson by clear UD.
I might get some **** for saying this but I dont think Nelson can compete with Chavez at 135.. NO way... He gets wrecked.
In that case I see it as 50/50. I actually think Nelson was the more versatile fighter, but Chavez's style wouldn't allow him to dictate the pace.
I miss The Professor. If he was at 130 nowadays he'd probably clean out the division with relative ease.
Definitely more competitive @130, Azumah would do well in the early rounds with Julio taking over from the middle till the end. Chavez UD
Azumah was strong. If Azumah was in shape I am not sure. He might just stop Chavez. He was stronger than most guys Chavez ever fought.
Chavez wins. Nelson is not as effective when backed up. He got past Fenech, but Fenech does not have the chin of Chavez. Rosario probably hits as hard as Nelson, but Chavez would do exactly what he did to Rosario.....rob him of his leverage and smoother Nelson like Fenech did.
