Azumah Nelson Vs. 2000's FW/SFW's

prime for prime, not many.

 

The fab 4....Morales, Barrera, Marquez and Pac can **** with him. Would they beat him is something else...

 

PBF, Casa and Chico would have given it a go.

 

Pac and Marquez are the only two feasible options (I'd favor neither), unless we're including Mayweather.

 

i'd say nelson would beat pac, struggle with marquez in a terrible fight, morales and he would have a fight of the year where erik outworks him ala the first fenech fight and Barrera is a toss up

 

Morales was nowhere near the in-fighter, or brawler, that Fenech was. He was a skilled stand-up boxer-puncher who often got dragged into brawls because of his propensity for eating punches. I doubt very seriously he beats the naturally bigger, stronger, more skilled Azumah in a war, particularly at close range.

 

true on all points but it's the brawler part i disagree with: i think morales would turn it into a war and had a chance to overwhelm the professor, not by knockout, but simply by staying on the man with brutal combos all night. Nelson would have a difficult time countering morales but then again i might be way the **** off mark

 

Barrera and Marquez might be able to get close if Nelson turned up like he did for one of his phoned in performances during his day..the 12 round distance helps their cause here.

Pre-prime featherweight Pac has very little chance....but Id give him a better chance if you were to shrink him back down from his current form..not that Id favour him though.

If we are talking Mayweather...then yes I think Floyd edges him clearly..Nelson owns Corrales and would more then likely overcome Casamayor if guys like Castillo and Freitis could.
As for Freitis...The Professor would have him quitting at some point.

Azumah is one of physically strongest featherweights Ive seen coupled with a very high level of skill and adaptability.

If Chi could get Morales giving that much ground...then I dont see how Erik overwhelms a prime Azumah to tell you the truth.

 

They all get schooled!
