if the Cruz fight had not happened in that hot weather on the Hearns/Medal, Duran Sims undercard, how would McGuigan have done vs. Nelson.. I saw a McGuigan post and I always wondered about this fight.
What surprised me about McGuigan is how he didn't get back into form after Cruz. he just wasn't the same. Greats like Hearns or Duran would have made an excuse that it was the heat and found ways to come back and win more titles. I guess he was not a great fighter like that, but still I thought he could do more after and maybe stop Cruz in a close arena without the heat factor.
