Mitchell is underappreciated, and was very very good. I think he'd be competitive with Nelson, BUT... I think Nelson was a bit higher caliber and would win.

There's no big disparity between them in terms of skill, but Nelson's big edge in firepower should be the difference here.

Nelson by competitive, yet deserving decision. Probably scores a KD of Mitchell, but I think Mitchell was tough enough and good enough to go the distance.

What both these guys have in common is that they were great, but kinda a step below Mayweather, Arguello, and Chavez as far as 130 greats go.

    Nelson W12.

The gulf in overall quality of opposiition is enormous.

Nelson was better at 126 than 130 but think he was good enough to edge Mitchell

I think Mitchells greatest strength was he could adjust and wax always in condition.
I think people tend to forget he fought in the townships and gained alot of experience as he progressed in his career.
You saw what he dd to Tony Lopes especially in the second bout- total domination.
Truthfully I could see them splitting a pair of bouts.

I think Mitchell on points. He was a very cute fighter and could modify his style as the fight went on. Terrific engine on him, and he nearly always finished stronger than he started.
