Who wins a fight between these 2 (for the sake of the poll say FW), and how does it go down? Does your pick change between FW/SFW/LW or do you pick the same one each time regardless of weight and/or career points?

A red hot Nelson edges a decision a think...Good chance he can drop JMM on route aswell but I don't think he stops him.

Any of the less than stellar versions of Nelson could very well drop a decision..at the very least eeks out a dubious points verdict.

    Very competitive matchup.

Nelson is clearly the more talented fighter, but yeah if he comes into the fight like he did against Lupe Suarez, Mario Martinez (first time round) or Juan Laporte then he could find himself losing.

At his best, he'd win comfortably, and probably by boxing Marquez more than trying to seek and destroy.

I'd have to watch alot more Nelson before I gave a solid opinion here.

Interested to see what others say.

I think Nelson is the better all-round fighter, and would drop JMM once or twice en route to a 116-111 type decision.

JMM is generally a bit overrated because he knows how to throw a nice combo and has had three close fights with Pacquiao (yet failed to beat him once). He is a very good fighter, but a flawed one, and I don't see him as being quite on the same level as someone like Azumah.

And I don't even say this thinking of Marquez's losses to John and Norwood, actually the Barrera fight is more central to my thoughts when assessing Marquez vs high level operators. JMM was prime/near-prime, and fought a very faded Barrera, and yet I still think Barrera outjabbed and outboxed him for long periods, the same Barrera who went to get easily, widely beaten by Pacquiao and never beat another top 10 ranked fighter. IMO, that fight showed JMM's limitations vs that calibre of comp.

Azumah. JMM's one of my present favorites, but he's not knocking Nelson out,so he's going to have to outbox him.I don't think he can if you take the best versions of both of them.Azumah by decision.BTW,I like Azumah over MAB,EM,Manny Pac and Hamed(Hamed pretty easily and more convincingly than MAB did).

What a bloody amazing fight. Both truly great fighters I have to admit I don't know who would have won prime for prime
