in ecuador if i remember correctly (whatever they were doing there). hop later said it had something to do with the altitude:huh
I don't recall Jones knocking Hopkins down. It's been awhile since I've seen that fight, but I remember that being one of the most boring bouts ever, with nothing approaching a knockdown.
And dislocated Hop's shoulder in the process. Of course, Bernard got up and proceeded to beat Echols down for that. I loved the moment in the fight where Echols turns to the ref to complain about something and Bernard punches him right in the face. That wasn't a boxing match, that was a FIGHT.
It wasn't after the bell, but it was on the break, so it was ruled no knockdown. It was in the first fight (1st round I believe). Yeah...I don't think B-Hop hit the mat against Jones. He hit a lot of air in that fight, of course...
I second that, no knockdowns Jones vs Hopkins, Bernard lost by UD ( all three judges scores 116-112), suffered 2 knockdowns against Segundo Mercado in Equador in what resulted in a draw verdict after 12, and once knock-out-of the ring by Mills Lane ( No Contest vs Robert Allan)... Have all his title fights in DVD.
Yeah...Im a jackass....no idea what I was thinking. Im gonna go watch that fight again. Was there anything ruled a slip or anything, I must really be losing it.
