had Hopkins not fought like John Ruiz he could have won the fight. His holding, grabbing, clinching, etc. was a disgrace and made the fight boring as hell.

Iv always been a fan of Hopkins and Calzaghe but Bernard is clearly being very bitter towards Joe.

Hopkins was in most peoples p4p top 5 going into the fight with Calzaghe, coming off wins vs Wright and Tarver.. But when he gets beat hes suddenly an old man? Calzaghe is old for a boxer at 36 as well. Its a well known fact Hopkins is a rare breed of fighter than maintains a high level into his 40s.

I personally think Hopkins and Calzaghes have a lot of similarities.

Both had a lengthly reign in their respective divisions without beating anyone of real note.

Then both had their breakthrough fights, Hopkins:- Tito and DLH. Calzaghe:- Lacy and Kessler.

Hopkins then moved up two divisions and beat the number one in Tarver and as we know Calzaghe then jumped up to Light Heavy and beat Hopkins.

Both fighters have wins over good opposition BH:- Tito, DLH, Wright. JC:- Kessler, Lacy, Eubank

Both have wins over decent opposition BH:- Joppy, Echols, Allen, Eastman. JC:- Mitchell, Brewer, Reid, Bika

And both fighters have wins of **** fighters BH:- Hakker. JC:- Pudwill.

Both fighters are at the tailend of their respective careers and both are hall of fame bound, its just a shame the majority of Americans dont give Calzaghe the same amount of respect they give to Hopkins.

This from the guy who conned his way through 12 rounds with JC by hugging, headbutting, and taking 5 minutes out after faking low blows:rofl Classic. The guy is a *****.

Hopkins is ridiculous. He survived every minute of that fight. Even the same minute he KDed Joe in the first round he did nothing to try to be aggresive about it... only survive survive survive.

I think that interview most be the most extreme case of self denial. It was ridiculious that one judge gave him the fight and that ref should never work again, but for Hopkins to actually claim he won is just plain ridiculous.

If that means Joe can't beat Roy than I disagree with Bernard

Hopkins was on point with his comments, though I must admit, I really have a hard time seeing the Jones/Calzaghe fight being a pick-em, but after watching Calzaghe struggle to beat a 43 yearold Hopkins, I guess Jones does have a chance to spark him, which I and many others would love to see, a real champ holding the belts again.
