Your excuse is noted. And quite likely will not be relevant. This will almost certainly be a battle of styles, not power. And as I am predicting, Loma will take away Rigo's left, which is all Rigo has, and will pressure him and smother him, which Rigo likes to deal with by running and stinking out the joint. This fight will be no exception.
Hopkins the same guy that said Taylor would rule the middleweight division, and then say the same thing about Pavlike? lol
I'm in agreement with Hopkins. The problem for Rigo is he is fighting two weight classes up, so Loma is the bigger man and Rigo simply doesn't throw enough punches. Rigo is eight years older than Loma, maybe even more than that because he is from Cuba where birth records are shaky. Smaller fighters don't age well either, Rigo could be shot overnight (see Gonzalez-Rugvisia II). Rigo has been inactive; fighting once in 2015, once in 2016 and 1 round so far in 2017. It all adds up to Rigo being in over his head in this fight IMO. I expect Loma to stop him late in the fight but although I think he wins, it is not necessarily a gimme. Rigo still is a defensive wizard and you never know, perhaps Rigo counterpunches his was to a decision. I just don't see it happening, Rigo has literally no advantages over Loma IMO.
If I recall, NY doesn't allow fight night weights to be aired. You won't know how many pounds Lomachenko has on Rigondeaux until you speak to Pedro Diaz after the fight. Will probably be at least nine or ten pounds.
Say whatever you want about Bhop, but he knows his boxing and analyzes and studies fight films more closely than almost any fighter in history.
I said this from the start! Plus Rigo is a superb counter puncher. Expect to see Loma's punch output diminish. I feel Rigo can hurt Loma with one shot, whereas Loma can't. Very interesting fight.
It's not like he isn't Canelo's promoter or anything. http://l7.alamy.com/zooms/4f537f1becbf436f909731f40ca8239e/new-york-ny-usa-26th-aug-2015-canelo-alvarez-bernard-hopkins-in-attendance-f14y6k.jpg
I trust you, but are you sure about that man? Sure Lomachenko is just 2 inches taller and Rigo has about 2 inches on him in reach, but at the same time Rigo is used to dealing with guys smaller than Lomachenko and Loma deals with bigger fighters than Rigo. I think that difference is going to matter a lot. I'm expecting a beatdown honestly.
