A public poll would've be an easy way to differentiate the logical, learned boxing fans from the typical ESB tards. He's nowhere near top 10.
No he doesn't have names like Hagler and Duran on his record. But his resume is wider than Leonards when you add in the twenty defences and the years of Leonards prime he spent away from the ring when he could have gotten work done.Hopkins has beaten five genuinely elite fighters Tito,Dlh,Winky,Tarver and Pavlik. Some of those names do compare with Benitez.Plus none of those fighters beat Hopkins.Leonard lost to Duran and Hearns(rematch).Trust me in many years time hopkins will be ranked close to or above Leonard on All-Time Great lists.
My list 1. Robinson 2. Armstrong 3. Greb 4. Pep 5. Ali 6. Duran 7. Langford 8. Leonard 9. Hopkins 10. Whitaker
I could debate with you over your flawed estimation of what is "elite", or explain the factors weight class's play. But I wont. Other than to say including Oscar De La Hoya as an elite fighter at 160lbs is a joke frankly. There can be no argument or debate on this. As I have no interest im out, :good
