that if the fight was 6 years earlier he would have beaten Joe decicively.

Credit to Joe, he is an excellent fighter and a good champion, but as soon as Hopkins was active the difference in technique and class was very noticable, ashame he was 43 yrs of age and couldn't sustain it.

I had the fight 114-113 to JOE, I predicted a narrow win for Calzaghe as this was a far better class of fighter than Danish Pastry Kessler.

Credit to F.Warren to managing his career and make these Big fights against fading greats.

This fight also confirmed another thing that I have always been saying, Calzaghe would not have been a top 3 Super Middleweight in the Golden era of Toney Nunn Mcullum and RJJ, he would have been competetive but schooled.

RJJ vs Joe will be a similar close fight "at this stage" also because Jones Like Hopkins is fraction of what he was and is now at J Calzaghes level.

A two handed Bhop would of beat Joe that night. Hurt him alot worst. He created the openings and he seen the shots but he could not get that left hook out. A prime bhop could flow punches and combinations. He did not win rounds on Roy with that kind of ****. A prime Calzaghe would of left himself open and thrown those same wide slaps as he did last night. Calzaghe is a great fighter, but he is still a cut below the greats here in there prime.

I thought Hopkins won the fight, but dont you think if the fight would have took place years ago, B-Hop might be more offensive minded(slightly), and his tactics and defense might not be as good (due to experience i believe his defense is better now)? If he was more offensive-minded i dont think he woulda won last night. Just a thought

PS - Hopkins is like fine wine, even though he aint in his pysical and youthful prime right now, his tactical acumen gets bettereverytime i see him. At times last night he schooled probably the best offensive swarmer in world boxing.

BHOP is amazing given how he is so competitive at 43 but he came to hold, hug and throw a few right hands each round. It would be a disgrace to see a fighter nick the fight with those tactics. Calzaghe came to fight and wanted to entertain the public. From RD 5 to 12 JC dominated a prime BHOP.

6 years ago it's a real fight and JC would batter him.

    He's just better than Hopkins

You are not taking into account a 31 year old Calzaghe with more power who destroyed Mitchell.:patsch

You are acting like 2002 B-Hop would be fighting a 2008 Calzaghe.
