"I said it very clearly, I don't like Don King. It was part of my motivation. It's not about blacks or whites, but about all people. He doesn't treat anyone good. Who would of thought that all these years nobody nobody could get rid of him, not even Bob Arum, but the one who did was Bernard Hopkins, defeating his last champion", said "The Executioner". "I said it at the Barclays Center. Ten years have gone past. I made money beating King's fighters. I beat all of them. From 20 of my title defenses, 90% were against King's fighters. Now, I had the chance to hammer the last nail into your coffin and kick you out of this business. I did Richard Schaefer, HBO even Arum a favour. I did everyone a favour, because Don King - love him or hate him'- is finished". can anyone explain to me why B-Hop has so much resentment towards King? wasn't King his former promoter?
I believe because at one point he screwed Hopkins out of money when he use to be his promoter..But I mean Hopkins is just a list of fighters who couldn't stand King ..
Hopkins was screwed over so many times. King milked the MW division when Hopkins was champ and scrwed him against Mercado, and then when Hopkins whooped him King never let him unify against the other fighters until ****ing 2001 when the odds were stacked against him :-( **** Don King.
This is the best thing anyone has ever done for the sport of boxing. God bless Bhop for killing Satan. Bhop for pope!
Don king has screwed all of his fighters, however he did put up some awesome cards in the 90s we can't deny that. But the dude is a money sucking leach.
Well um maybe because King is a rat who Tyson had to beat up once because of the same problem: stealing money from their pocket. He is just a rat, a shady rat.
Bravo to Hopkins, he should be a hero to all boxing fans, and boxers. King was a PARASITE on the sport of boxing, siphoning money off fighters' purses for years while they took the punishment. I couldn't be happier to see this piece of human garbage, this EXPLOITER of other humans, cast upon the trash heap where he belongs.
