B-Hop discusses politics and the aftermath about the flag incident in PR. This was live on New York's hottest hip hop radio station Hot 97. Angie Martinez was interviewing B-Hop till producer Monse interrupted her and expressed himself about the flag incident. B-Hop didnt hold back either... Things to point out if you didnt know: - in the heat of promoting the fight, b-hop threw the pr flag on the ground (in pr) causing a riot as he ran for his life. - After the fight b-hop returned to PR by himself to apologize & give tito his belts back. Many never forgave b-hop for what he did.... and Monse was one them. I forgave him and many people as well. It was a nice gesture of him to apologize. But incidents like that are really unfortunate and should never happen. One thing is trying to promote a good fight, but another thing is disrespecting a country ( or a commonwealth like PR, you know what I mean). You just don't mess with flags, especially in a place with so much nationalistic pride like PR. Imagine if Tito had thrown down the US flag instead. I think that's what separates him from other guys. He was always humble and never disrespected others. BHOP is awesome but he just ticks me off sometimes with his attitude, like for instance when he had to play the race card and said to JC : "I will never let a white boy beat me". Imagine the outrage if Calzaghe had said : "I will never let a black boy beat me".
:rofl:rofl:rofl that **** was KOMEDY KOMEDY KOMEDY all in K's. THis is why i love B-hop that dude Monse or whatever is a straight ***** and a ****ing cry baby
Pretty funny hearing Hopkins try and weasle his way out of the "theres nothing gangster about talking **** and then running" comment without giving any ground on his manliness.
For years I hated him I must admit, but over the last few years I've grown to respect him not only as a fighter, but as a man who turned his life around and made something of himself. I remember after the Tito fight he told Larry Merchant that he was the "american dream." He is indeed. I got love for B-Hop.
P.S. I've learned to stop picking against that man. I picked Tito, Tarver, Winky, and Pavlik to all beat him. I've learned my lesson.
I've been meaning to make a thread now for a while. Here is as good as anywhere else. Does anyone have a .gif or .avi of Hops running out of the stadium with a hundred Ricans on his ass? That was absolutely priceless hype.
i cant access youtube @ work but im sure its on there. b-hop ran to the aisle and had to jump the rail a couple levels up.... so many pr's followed and jumped the rail as well. :rofl fu*king classic.
^^I've been looking for this clip they showed on Friday Night Fights where Hopkins decks some guy chasing after him before jumping the rail. Crazy ****.
That cracked me up. The thing about that whole incident was that in Hopkins' mind, the fight had already started with the first press conference. There he is, with Don King, who is supposed to be promoting both fighters, shouting "Viva Puerto Rico" and waving PR flags, while Felix is standing in front of him waving a flag in his face. Knowing what we know about Hopkins, should anyone have expected anything else? I'm sure he took it as Felix attempting to intimidate him, and responded in kind. He also was a man about it later, going to Puerto Rico after the fight to praise Felix and apologize for the flag incident. I think he handled it about as well as he could.
