B-HOP v TRINIDAD Aftermath

Frankly, I understand and even respect where Puerto Ricans are coming from on this one. I wouldn't walk into Pearl Harbor or Ground Zero, throw down an American flag, and expect people to laugh it off. As an American I'd kick my own ass. Even in a "globalized" world, flags carry a ton of meaning. Hopkins knew damn well that what he was doing was dangerous, but he did it anyhow.

What still just kills me about the scene though is that Hopkins was crazy enough to do it, he got away unharmed, and that he absolutely got in Tito's head by doing it.

Nobody is asking Puerto Ricans to condone what he did, but the fight is long over, the man has apologized, and it's time to move on. The fact that it's still being rehashed seven years down the road just makes the legend grow.

 

B-Hop will never be forgiven for his Racism. He is an overrated, snaggletoothed, Uncle Tom, Step n' Fetch it, Shoeshine boy for GBP, and a "Yes Man" for Oscar de la Hoya. Joe C and Taylor are real heros. B-Hops is simply an ex con who was Middleweight Champion of a weak era, until Jermain came along and showed him who "Daddy" was and is all along.

 

Winky was the favorite too? I know the others were.

It's funny how after Hopkins says "I beat their legend" the *** producer is like "It ain't bout that yo!" or whatever. Yeah right. If Tito had won the fight you can't tell me there'd still be all this "disrespect" bull****. It IS all about the fact that they're idol got SCHOOLED and embarrassed by Hopkins in the ring. I can't imagine how bad it must burn them. Hehehe. Tito = the Puerto Rican Impotent Jesus. LoL

 

Just ignore Jack when Hopkins comes up. Better for all involved.

 

Well, it's pretty much the same thing with Jermain Taylor, the Biological Father of Bernard Hopkins. Taylor is disrespected by you ***goty Bernard fans. :good:good

 

I dont really give a **** about people who burn flags or stomp on them or booh anthems. Often it tels me they are dickheads but I dont get offended by it. Especially when it's just a symbolic stunt.

 

It was a great Hype for the fight, The Flag thing pissed me off back in the days but he came back to P.R. as he promesed Tito after the fight, which he didint have to do, I mean after almost getting a humble beating in that riot , he at least came back an apologize , cant be mad at him.


If someone find the video of Hopkins runnin for his life right here at SanJuan put it in is classic, and is no bull**** ,that people there will have beat his ass with no problem ,we P.R. people are very proud, he could have said whatever to Trinidad but to mess with our flag. come on that was out of hand. He learned hes lesson guaranteed he wont do it again . IMO

 

It all made for some excitement.

 

Hopkins didn't get caught because nobody really wanted to catch him. He would've killed a few of them before the mob took him down. What a ballsy dude.
