Let me shed the skin of a Pac fanatic at the moment and talk about another fight in the near horizon. That is the fisticuffs between Calzaghe and Hopkins in the coming week. Though I am not a fan of both fighters, I thought I’d bring in my two cents because this is a big fight, one of the biggest in the decade in fact.

In any case, the my prediction for this fight would be UD or SD for Calzaghe. The reason is simply this, the best way to beat a very good technical boxer is to be a very good swarmer. Being a busy fighter essentially makes you look good in front of the judges especially when your opponent doesn’t throw as many punches as you and that is simply what Calzaghe does. Since Hopkins generally fights a more defensive fight, Joe gets more points by being the aggressor in most of the rounds.

Now don’t get me wrong, I feel Hopkins would snap Calzaghe’s head back and in fact in to many of you guys would actually feel that Hopkins is actually winning, but recent trends in fights show that the defensive fighter gets the short end of the stick against a swarmer when it goes to the judges. Look for Hopkins to get the cleaner shots but Calzaghe would be too busy and win the fights on aggression.

Dream on. No one is stopping Hopkins. Bhop would have beaten Joe easy 6 years ago.

A few years ago this would've been a tough fight to predict. Now I feel that Calzaghe has too much hand/footspeed.
    Calzaghe- 9-3 or 8-4.

No way can I see Joe stopping Hopkins though. Ain't gonna happen!

b-hop must have thought differently in 2002 when he ducked joe. strangely enough it is not getting boring reminding the fools who state this sort of **** with that apparently little known fact.

Calzage by wide UD. he will outland Hopkins like 6-1. Hopkins will land a nice shot here and there and his fans will cry that he should have gotten the nod because he landed the "better shots"

That's pretty much how I see it. Guys like Tyson, sues2nd, BigReg, Rumsfeld and co have so much credibility invested in Hopkins with the bull**** they spout, they will never accept it gracefully
