Hopkins would beat Tiger. He's not a runner, the type of fighter that gave Tiger the most trouble, but the problems are the same. Hopkins is expert at controlling the range.

Unless he used the formula of jab and move, Hopkins would have been overrun and overpowered by Dick Tiger. Hopkins is being overrated here. That grab and hold crap would have cut no dice with Tiger. Jab and move with skill and it was possible to outpoint Tiger, but not trying to smother him and outstrength him.

    Tough fight to call.

The Tiger that lost his title to Giardello and was held to a draw by Fullmer would probably be outboxed/outsmarted by Hopkins as well.

But the Tiger that raised his game in rematches with those two, and also against Benvenuti, might well have outboxed and out-countered Hopkins.

This might come down to who can force the other to lead more, as neither one is as wholly comfortable when taking the lead.

I don't see any slugger type fighter beating hopkins. Styles make fights and tiger is made to order for hopkins. Ud for hopkins, maybe even late round tko.

    :rofl

I would make Hopkins a slight favourite here, but if he is going to win it sure as **** ain`t going to be by KO/TKO, no way. Tiger had a great chin, better than Hopkins imo and frankly Nard ain`t got the firepower to dish out the kind of hurt it would take to stop a man of Tiger`s durability, its laughable really to even suggest it if we are taking both men at their respective peaks. Anyway, I`ll go with Tiger here to win a very close, possibly even controversial decision, but win he would methinks, although I sense a trilogy here bwteen these two had they been around in the same era.

Not really fair to say that Tiger has a better chin then Hopkin's. There's really nothing definitive to separate them.

Both were thrown to the wolves early on and Tiger came out of his early career with a KO loss, and ended his career with one as well.

I'd say their chins are fairly equal, anyway.

Tiger isn't exactly a "slugger type" though, he's more of a counterpuncher, albeit an aggressive one.
