It's a toss up. I say Pavlik solely because he's as big (if not bigger) than Hopkins and the fact that he at the time, was an undefeated fighter who just beat the guy who beat Hopkins. Tito will be seen historically as the better win, owing to his achievements at 147 and 154 but as for actual win? Hopkins coming off a loss, at the age he was? You've got to say Pavlik (or Tarver)
I'd say the Tarver win was better than the Pavlik win because he came up 2 divisions to beat Tarver who was considered THE MAN there after beating Jones twice & avenging his loss to Glenn. Hopkins, unlike before the Pavlik fight when he had the Calzaghe loss, suffered 2 losses in a row to Taylor before fighting Tarver but overcame those to beat Tarver pretty convincingly and score a technical knockdown.
Tito, definitely. With Pavlik, he created a blueprint that others could follow. No one else could treat Tito the way that Hopkins did. Also, with Pavlik, you knew exactly what the whole fight was going to look like in the first round. I place the Tarver win higher than Pavlik, for the same reason as Tito... Hopkins took one punch away from Pavlik, but he took everything away from Tarver, who was almost in tears between some rounds. No one else can dismantle Tarver as easily and thoroughly.
His win vs Pavlik is by far the better performance. Pavlik came off nice wins vs Jermain, and showed he could put you to sleep. Bhop just crafted his way through that fight, staggering Pavlik all night long. A better question would be if the Pavlik or Tarver win was better.
Well the Tito win was more epic but the Pavlik win is something in it's self. B-Hop in just 36 mins destroyed Pavliks life forever. Since then Pavlik has become a depressed drunk with no motivation or care what so ever. Pavlik wakes up every night screaming after having nightmares of B-Hop chasing him through the woods in a Jason mask.
I completely agree with these sentences. Pavlik has still not recovered from losing to Hopkins and Tarver hasn't been relevant since losing to Hopkins and to conclude this, Trinidad wasn't as devastating at MW after facing Hopkins. :rofl
:deal thats one thing about hopkins career that all his bashers need to think about no is ever tha same after facing him. an to add to that look at jermain taylor, b4 he fought b-hop he wasa great undefeated up an coming fightr wit great technical skill and after he beat hopkins he has went 1-4-1 an been knckd out 2 times and essentially retired, tha proof is in da puddin people
