B.J. Penn - I'm not doing this again

It just looked wrong to me, it looked like a man at odds with the situation and then I caught a blog on BJPenn.com which was from BJ himself who was answering the question; why did you cry? His words where "I was crying because it dawned on me after seeing all the fans that I just hadn't prepared in the way I should have" SCARY! :deal

A man can have so much on the line and fight a man like Nick Diaz with a big fat belly and sub par training.

It was then I realised that Penn was significantly more balls than brains. For a while I was fooled with the whole Merenovich thing and the LW dominance and Penn remains my idol BTW! But he's got some mental issues, the fight with Edgar at 45 just under scores that.

Bj is a huge talent and huge success but he has a huge mental flaw and that is simply the ability to be dedicated to working hard, consistently, for his whole career. That flaw can be as big as a poor chin, lack of speed, ko power etc

The truth is, that despite his accomplishments, BJ did not become the best he could be at 155 or 170.

 

Blows my fuggin mind that he took a third fight with Edgar, and that he took it at 145. I can see the lugnuts shaking loose already. The wheels are bound to come flying off, BJ's never been the most motivated, scratch-and-claw gym rat.

 

It's poor of the UFC to allow this fight but it's an easy payday for them with a new angle of BJ wants to train hard! SO HARD that he'll make 145.

IF BJ makes 145 and actually beats Edgar then it'll will simply show he didn't scratch the surface interms of what he could have done. Fighters aren't supposed to go down in weight as they get older. That only shows he wasn't a 155 to start with...

...or is doing a typical frightening modern weight cut.
