I thought it was a bit early. The guy was fighting back and throwing. You have to give a guy a chance to win.

 

Anti- climatic . But no real problem with the stoppage. Guy was getting pounded.

 

hometown stoppage like a mother ****er. Bad stoppage for sure. Kirkland needs to work on the way he delivers punches. he wasnt setting up ****, and was just throwing hard. He wasnt even trying to be accurate.

 

I did think it was a bit early I mean Cortes was under fire but hardly anything from Kirkland was hitting the target and Cortes had a good start to the second before being dropped. I think the ref should have given Cortes the benefit of the doubt, although in Kirkland's hometown I guess they were not taking any chances. I do think Kirkland may have ended it in the next, although he may have punched himself out and been hurt again by Cortes, alas we will never know now.
