Is he closing in on a title shot? And what chance would you give him against Anderson? :bbb

Certainly looks like their bringing him up for a title shot.I quite like him, I didn't really follow him until his drop to 185, but I quite like him, he's got some decent skills and he seems like s genuinely nice guy. And a war hero to boot.

His chances against Silva are somewhere between nil and **** all.

Anderson absolutely kills him, he's the kind of aggressive come forward fighter that Anderson feasts on.

Stann has real power. Santiago has never had the best chin but Leben is solid and Stann has walked through both of them in 5 or so months.

Some great fights for the fans @ 185 involving Stann, that's for sure.

I would be well up for....

    Stann Vs Bisping
    Stann Vs Akiyama
    Stann Vs Wanderlei
    Stann Vs Belfort

I think he'd run into trouble against the likes of Okami, Maia and Sonnen.

I don't like him for some reason. Feed him to Silva.

I didn't used to like the guy back when he was in the WEC. It seemed like he was just a big, strong, athletic guy that they put in there with total cans so they could talk about what a hero he is. My favorite fight of his was the one where Steve Cantwell worked him over.

Now though, I really like to watch him fight. He's got much sharper technique, uses feints like how I've always thought people were supposed to and fights aggressively to win all the time. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't try to get him into TUF coaching yet.

And yeah, him versus Wanderlai would be a great fight, but they might still want to bring him up slower. He's a pretty marketable guy, after all.

I'm thinking Belfort might be a good next step, test Stann at a higher level, see if he's up to it.

I agree. Anderson is still way too advanced for Stann. He needs years before he's ready or until Silva starts to decline whichever comes first.

Stann would get ****ing murdered. Like someone else said it'd be like Silva-Leben, only I think it'd be an even bigger ass wooping because Silva is better now.
