As we all know Amir Khan is hoping to fight the winner of JMM/Juan Diaz in his next fight. JMM said he is happy to go to 140 to fight Khan. seems Khan wants to beat a blown up lightweight instead of fighting maidana/bradley/alexander. however Baby Bull has said in an interview on another site that he will not go up to 140, he will stay and fight at lightweight. Khan better prey Diaz doesnt cause an upset because otherwise he will have to fight the real 140 pounders.
When did Marquez say he'd fight Khan? last I heard he ruled it out saying he didn't want to be used as a stepping stone.
I think JMM will win too. i just dont want to see khan use marquez as a name to add to his resume when he should be unifying his division or at least trying
It's funny how people (me included) can change their opinions so quickly. It wasn't too long ago (even after the Mayweather fight!), people were claiming how easily JMM would smash Khan's china chin. But now, JMM's magically become way too small to even be in the ring with him. Something must have happened between this period for us to change our minds so drastically. I really don't know what it could be :think. Maybe Khan proving to be a better fighter than we initially thought?
Well Khan is a 140 belt holder. That deserves respect. JMM has only had 1 fight above 135 where he looked awful and bloated. plus theres the age issue. JMM at the same age as khan i say beats him at whatever weight.
Well if you want to make JMM prime, then it's only fair we make Khan prime too. At the moment, we all know Khan is still a few years away from reaching his best. So a peak JMM vs a peak Khan? A very competitive matchup, and one that's not so easy to establish a winner. Especially seeing as though we don't know how good Khan can be. But I do agree with you, as it stands JMM will have a mountain of a task to beat Khan. I see him being on the end of a big points defeat, something I would hate to see. JMM doesn't deserve to be a stepping stone for anybody. But how great would it be if he manages to pull a win!
I'd also rather watch Khan vs. Maidana, JMM doesn't belong to 140 and should only accept if the offer is REALLY solid. On the other hand, I understand Marquez wants to be the first 4-division champ coming from Mexico, and I have a poll of EastSideBoxing favoring JMM over Khan by 70%. But... he's also a blown-up LW and Khan is cherry picking? Sorry guys, but you can't have it both ways (even if that is becoming regular with Amir).
I can understand why Khan's team would opt for JMM at the end of the year. It'll be a nice learning curve that'll get some rounds under his belt (seeing as though he'd have been inactive for 8 months, and has only boxed 12 rounds in 2010 so far!) But once he's done with this, I think he must take on Maidana next. If he doesn't, then I'd honestly have very little reason to keep defending him.
It really annoys me the way Khan was saying he,d like to fight Mayweather in a year and here we are we cant even get him to fight guys in his own weight class....he fights old men ,non punchers and lightweights.....Maidana would wreck his career and his FACE !!!
Awsome avatar Anyway, where did Khan say he would like to fight Mayweather in a year? As far as I can remember, he simply said at some point in the future he'd like to be fighting the Mayweathers and Pacquiaos. I don't think he put an exact number on it (I could be wrong). The guy's just showing ambition. Nothing wrong with that at all. Also when you say "we cant even get him to fight guys in his own weight class". You do know that all of his 140 fights so far, have been against 140 fighters. Right?
