I doubt baby fat can beat marquez. If he does somehow beat marquez then marquez needs to hang it up cuz he shouldn't lose to a brawler like diaz.

I still give marquez a good shot at beating khan if it happens.

Why not then? Khan is calling out LWs, why not Ortiz?? He's beatable right? So why not fight a beatable LWW instead of facing older past it LWs? Id imagine it would look better in your resume...Victor can punch, but he can be beaten, why not test yourself??

It's a possible fight. But there's no rational world in which Victor Ortiz is more of a test than JMM if Marquez looks good against Diaz. And Ortiz is the one who needs to step up his competition and start fighting people in his own weightclass, rather than Khan, who is already doing so.

I dont get this..Why is JMM a better test if he looks good against Diaz? the bout is taking place at 135...now if the bout was at 140, and JMM looked good, then ok no prob, but thats not the case, and we have seen how Juan looks above 135...and quite frankly, i wouldnt call that a test at all....You say Ortiz should fight someone in his own weightclass? Well, Amir qualifies for that right?

    Well it goes like this:

JMM - top ten P4P fighter.
Ortiz - yet to beat a top ten fighter in his own division, cried and quit the first time he fought one.

    Different levels at this point.

It's like Sergio Martinez was a bigger challenge for Kelly Pavlik than Darren Barker would have been.

Manny Pacquiao was a bigger challenge for Miguel Cotto than Mike Jones would have been.

Beating a 36 yr old career FW, fighting at a weight which isnt even his prime weight and having him move up some more is a farce, top ten p4p or not. And yeah Martinez and Pacquiao were big challenges, but you see, those dudes, unlike JMM, looked good when when they fought at 147, and 160 before facing off against Pavlik/Cotto. JMM has shown that he doesnt look good above 135, and him looking good against Diaz (which will be at 135) does not mean he will look good at 140.

Pacquiao's only fight at 147 was against DLH who hadn't weighed in that low since 1997 and included an 'in the ring' limit that basically made it the equivalent of a LWW fight.

Martinez only fight at theoretical middleweight was against Williams, which was basically two LMWs fighting a non-title fight without bothering to boil down to the weight limit.

But they looked good did they not? What im trying to say is this....If Marquez was to fight Diaz at 140 and look good, then i wouldnt be making such a big deal out of this. Because all im getting from this is to move Marquez up in weight, because they've seen how bad he looks above 135, thus having yet another advantage...Do you seriously not have any problem with that?

Juan Diaz was beaten twice by Malignaggi and was KO'd rather easily by JMM. Khan would destroy the Baby Bull.

"You have to know the best time to have these big fights in your career. If you look at Oscar De La Hoya, he fought all the best fighters when they were on the way downhill. I want to catch these guys when they have come off their peak. But I have to be careful because there might be a younger version of me who wants to do exactly the same to me."

Do we all forget this so quickly?
