    you have it spot on:good

i despair sometimes.. it's actually quite depressing to read alot of the **** on this site.

diaz is a good fighter..full stop.

if he wasn't..then he wouldn't of beat kats/freitas/diaz.

the funny **** about this thread is that it's already 3 pages and we could talk about 3 class b fighters in his resume..

yes, he did wonderful things at the young age but only to fade fighting grand old papa nate. :rofl

Maybe by 2013 he can take his revenge and beat grand papa nate:rofl

freitas was badass back in the day, i can tell you are a young kid who bums off kobe, but boxing is different to b ball, juan diaz is a good fighter, unified at lightweight, and he was fighting above his natural weight he could have made 126 easy peasy so he did well to be fightig naturally stronger fighters.

    hypejob no. STFU and GTFOH

how anyone can call a 22-23 year old unified champion a hype job is beyond me.

If he can't beat PAPA Marquez at this stage of JMM's career he should retire or wait till 2020 so he can avenge his loss :!:

If he is not careful I wouldn't be surprised again if he losses by TKO:yep

It seems either you are an ATG or a bum. He was a good fighter at 135. His biggest mistake was going to 140. Losing to Malignaggi just makes him look a lot worst imo. Nobody is calling him the greatest, he is a good fighter at 135.

Criteria for not being a hype job (as I've learned on ESB):

Must have an iron jaw and never so much as visibly wobble from even an ATG knockout artist. Otherwise...glass-jawed joke, and if a name fighter-hype job.

Must have one-punch knockout power in both hands. Otherwise, one-handed hype job joke and/or pillow-fisted.

Must have beaten at least five ATGs in their prime, when they were healthy, in their best weight class. Otherwise, HBO or Showtime or ESPN just tried to force-feed them to you. Hype jobs.

There's more, but I'm too lazy to bother.

Must fight a new ATG every fight, otherwise they're cherry picking.

Must move in between weight classes seemlessly, otherwise they're not challenging themselves.

Must never get hit with anything big, otherwise they have no defense. (look at Cotto, man keeps his hands up, has good head movement, but is accused of having no defense regularly because he takes punches)

Nah not a hypejob, very good fighter, with some good wins at 135. I think he's on the slide though, didn't look great since the Marquez KO. He's still young, can come back, but who knows if he will or not.

im not saying hype job. but he is fortunate.

yes he unified the division, but he did so without facing the lineal champ, so bit of a doubt there.

his problem, for me, is his lack of power. if he had any pop he could be world class, as it is he will probably beat anyone his size, but bigger opponents he will always struggle with.

saying that, he did outclass katsidis which is very impressive in my books.

when he was unbeaten people where hyping him as p4p top 20, but you know he is a good boxer, just not a great boxer.

still for a young guy to unify 3 belts is very very impressive, and something any of us would have loved to achieve.
