I think boxing (particularly heavyweights) is heavily sufferring from a tomato can express syndrome. What is sad is that there are so many fans that get on board. Mesi beat a bunch of cripples in his come back and yet according to some he is ready to KO Ibragimov, Chagaev etc. Let him beat someone who can actually box. Look at Chagaev's path to the title, the guy actually fought some quality opponents and this is how it should be.

    He should fight Johnny Ruiz.

    :good

see the fights against Lindberger & Shannon Miller where he has completley annhilated both of these C level guys inside a round. He looks as good as he ever looked now, his fitness & weight as well. Hes always hadshaky defense and stamina issues but like everyone else, i'd like to see him against a top 20 guy. I agree that fighting Wladdy or Sam PEter would not be smart... :yep

Everyone forgets that the punch that did the damage to Mesi from Jirov was a shot to the back of the head.

All you armchair doctors who've never examined Mesi yourselves to STFU about his risks.. because you just don't know them.

It's his decision, he's been cleared by doctors. Let him fight.

    then Rahman (or Ruiz)
and then the winner of Ibragimov vs Klitchko.

A fight that would work for him would be Jameel McCline. McCline is big, but not a huge hitter (despite what happened vs. Peter), ranked 9th by the WBC and did well enough in his last fight that people would be interested, a Mesi win here would put him in the top ten. If (when) Peter takes out Maskaev, they could market Mesi, because Mesi would have beaten McCline, who gave Peter trouble.

If McCline wins, it keeps him current enough to stick around the top ten for a while and get yet another big payday.

I really hope that Mesi gets medically tested very closely before he steps in the ring with Peter. Or even McCline.

    Dream on.
Mesi has ------ "no chance" beating Ibragimov or anyone in the top 10.
I give Mesi little chance of beating anyone in the top 20.
    Mesi is getting old.
2 fights or 100 fights --- he is not going to get much better.
They are looking for the money --- the one big payday that they never got.
Thats because he does have a significant fan base --- even thou most of them or delusional to say the least.
