It is rubbish bring this fight up because of two things:

A: Joe is a much better fighter now. He has always had a high output, but previously he was far too hot-headed and would not fight smart. He just went all out. Over the past 4 years or so he has developed a smartness that means Reid would not win a round if he had met this Joe Calzaghe. Not a round.

B: Robin has said many times that Joe clearly beat him.

Therefore: Pure stupidity even bringing this fight up.

calzaghe wins it in my opinion.

    it was fairly close though.

7-5 with an extra pt for joe cos reid got docked a pt.

    calzaghe deserved it. :yep

Calzaghe won clearly, a rematch would only result in a wider margin of victory for Calz, just as it would in a Hopkins rematch.

Damn, I haven't seen this in a while. If I'm not mistaken this may have been one of the fights I've seen with the worst officiating ever. As a matter of fact I'm gonna start writing them down so I can have them archived. If this is the fight I recall it seemed like it was 2 on 1 in there.

Sure you aren't thinking of Reid - Ottke? That certainly was 2 vs 1.

Yeah, some people are thinking about Ottke-Reid. That was a close fight, but only because of horrendous refereeeing. That fight Reid should have won.

The fight with Calzaghe (different fight!!) was clearly won by Calzaghe (and with one hand).

I get the impression that a lot of people on here havent even seen the reid v calzaghe fight.. I would say 116-113 to calzaghe. even reid said the joe was the better fighter... so how you can say reid won is beyond me and anybody else who actually seen the fight.

Yes, and this is the same bull**** logic people use to try and award Hopkins the fight against Joe Calzaghe. The fact that Reid had a few good rounds that stood out (his right hands landing) meant they didn't score the fight in proportion. Calzaghe won the majority of rounds, the rounds he didn't win, were comfortable rounds for Reid. But there were only 4 of them, at max.

Winning a fight is round by round, not "Who won a round the most convincingly".

Reid straight after Calzaghe broke his hand, went to town, took Calzaghe two rounds to come back into the fight but he did, and he won eight rounds easily. I gave Reid two rounds absolutely and two rounds were up in the air.

that made me laugh. it always gives me a giggle when people on here who blatantly werent even watching boxing back then claim they use a scoring system and can remember their expert analysis." i had it 116-112 !!!":nut :nut :nut . bell ends.

i saw the fight, i remember it being close but thinking it was fair enough, thats all.
