If Dawson protects himself with this high a guard, why doesn't everyone? This seems off to me. i know DLH was bad for this too, but why dont' we see all boxers doing this, would it not be to their advantage? This content is protected
Dawsons a real fighter because hes being taught by an old school guy. Im impressed by Dawson, hes a solid solid guy, and hes being brought along by a good trainer who is making him a top notch fighter. The problem with these fighters today is that they may have the skills but they are not being taught properly or prepared properly for an opponent.
**** i posted the wrong picture, but in the johnson 2 fight, i was wondering about his high shorts, and we see it as well here too. Beyond talking about legalities, because his shorts are obvioulsy legal, i was wondering why most boxers have much lower shorts. (not talking about his great defense, though he certainly has it)
All true - cant' wait to see who he fights in 2010. he's had a lot of A level fighters, now i think he's ready for A+. (but yeah i am merely talking about his high shorts, and why other boxers usually choose to have lower protectors)
His shorts do look a little high, and thats something that should be possibly addressed as the Grant belts seem to ride fairly high on fighters giving them some extra protection in the striking area. Evander Holyfield used that same belt in the Tyson fights. Nothing compares to what Lennox Lewis used in the Holyfield fight. His kidney belt was just below his nipples.
another good example, yeah. i wonder what the technique is for checking the height before a fight. there must be one, but maybe this has to be updated? i know what i would wear in a fight... This content is protected
wow ok i'll stop posting pictures, we all get the point, but look at that. you can essentially hit only the chest and up, which really means head or nothing - body shots be gone. This content is protected
