well, i think EVERYONE underestimated Chris Martin, and kind of rightfully so. But being undefeated and having a low KO record i guess says one thing - he's a slick boxer. And that was a bad style match-up vs Chris Avalos. Avalos is said to be a powerful puncher, due to his KO record. Yet i didnt see him set up much for a straight punch. Most of his power punches were wide hooks, which he depends on landing. I dont think he's a naturally powerful puncher, he just commits alot into his punches, and why his hooks are very wide, for more acceleration and leverage. Martin said he's a 1-dimensional fighter, and i think he was referring exactly to his punch selection. And for a slick boxer, he just slipped, ducked, and countered all his hooks all night long. I would suggest a new trainer for Avalos, and get away from his father. A fighter rarely can get diversified if he's stuck to his blood. He didnt get much technical instruction from him during the fight either...
