Just as ther is no rule to say that a boxer should "run" ther is no rule that states otherwise.

The one big issue with boxing, inside the ring, is:
Fighters rarely get penalized for it.

Who would you classify as outside fighters? I say Lomachenko is one.

Not really... that's the brilliance of the man called Vasyl, he can stand in the ring face to face and without taking a backward step slip punches in close, and unleash eye popping mesmerizing combos without his opponent knowing what hit them.

Calm down dude, MayPac isn't the end of the world. There is stinker like this one and great fight like Matthyse-Molina or Provodnikov-Bradley every year. Brilliant but boring technician and blood-and-guts warrior always exist, pick the fight you want to see.

    Lomachenko has great head movement.

I also like the way he uses his footwork to put himself in positions to punch from angles.

He's almost the total package of a boxer if he only had a little more power he would be perfection. Although he should stick with the slightly longer hair it made him look less generic.

People hide behind "hit and not get hit," conveniently forgetting that the actual purpose of boxing is to render the opponent unable to continue the fight. Decisions exist because can you imagine how short the careers of our favorites like Matthysse and Provodnikov would be if they didn't?

There will always be a class of men who find it more praiseworthy to not lose than to win. F*ck those people.

Who won fights by allowing opponents to completely exhaust themselves and/or break their hands on his guard until they could no longer fight. That's legitimate. It's also impossible in the 12 round era. Didn't he win a fight by not throwing a punch for 2 days straight or something

imho, boxing is primarily about incapacitating the opponent. All actions taken in the ring should serve that end. None of that should be taken to mean a fighter should allow himself to be hit. It does mean that his goal should always be to hurt the opponent, and he should take steps to do that. "Killing the fight" is something I don't approve of.

Fighting to not lose should not be rewarded. The fight is 12 rounds. There is no conceivable way that the opponent will keel over from exhaustion because you make him chase you and miss.

I will gladly watch him fight, as soon as he gets a live body in the ring with him. Orlando Salido and Gary Russell Jr were worth watching, but his last two fights were mismatches I have no interest in seeing. For the life of me, I don't know why Lomachenko and Santa Cruz were both on the MayPac undercard fighting TBAs instead of each other?

"hit and not get hit" is mayweather propaganda used to justify holding and running, amateur ethos

the objective of pro boxing is to beat your opponent even if that means you take one to land one

Rodriguez was pretty legit had never been dropped or stopped and Loma did both, not every match can be against a top contender, how much do people want Lomachenko fought Salido and Russell in his first 3 matches who else would have the cojones to do that.
He needs a few light touches to get his pro game down straight.
