Back when Hatton fought Mayweather, how many of you actually expected Hatton to win?

I knew Hatton couldn't win. But it was admirable that he did well in the early rounds.

Indeed. In those early rounds Hatton had the upper hand. Floyd soon established his supremacy though.

Respect to everyone who's admitted they thought Hatton would win.

Pity Joe C had to throw his hissy fit about the anthems (supposedly). Would have been a better fight without his constant interference, and Hatton wouldn't have got himself knocked out. Looking back, I'd imagine many would say Hatton was shot even before this fight.

No he didn't he was getting beat at his own game and didn't land a punch of note. He was lucky to win one round in that fight. What fight were you watching?

fairly sure hatton wouldn't win, and looking at his face I think he knew it as well.#

massive credit for stepping up to a prime atg though, twice (or perhaps thrice). hattons could have chosen to fight weaklings to remain undefeated instead, but hes be rated lesser.

At first I had this gut feeling that Hatton would win a controversial decision and then I thought, WTF am I thinking? I picked Mayweather by decision.

I've underestimated Pacquiao so many times. Picked him to lose to Barrera the first time (although mostly everyone did), De La Hoya, Cotto, Morales 2...I thought Hatton would be a tough fight, thought Diaz and Clottey would at least be semi-competitive.

Only time I think he's done less well than I expected was against Marquez. I thought he'd win the 3rd clearly, and thought the 4th would be another controversial decision, this time going to Marquez.

 at all the "Hatton was doing so well early on" nonsense. Mayweather was landing nearly all the clean punches. Hatton won 1, maybe 2 rounds out of the 9 completed rounds.

Cortez (who used to be good but started sucking in the 21st century) was too quick to break them up, that I agree, but when he did let them fight more up close, in and out of the clinches, Mayweather outfought him there too. He repeatedly dug in that right uppercut to Hatton's body with the free hand. All of those short body punches, and then Mayweather's attack in the 8th, was a beautiful display of body punching. He also set up some right hands to the head with his left jab to the body. It was a complete performance by Mayweather, he beat Hatton at all phases of the sport.

    I picked Hatton.

I was only one who did at the fight party I was at and got properly heckled for it when the fight ended.

The hype and build up had me thinking Hatton had a decent chance but I always predicted Floyd to win.

The HBO 24/7 was so damn good for this fight.

I wasn't that divided about it, I had May winning quite easily. Hatton was too slow and too small but hit hard. That's not a whole lot of problems for a guy like May to figure out. To me that was his greatest performance

I'm being perfectly honest I didn't think Ricky could win BUT I certainly didn't think Joe Cortez would blatantly take away what chance Ricky did have. Sadly Kenny Bayless took over Cortez mantle as Floyd's 0 protector
