    hmm says. . .

i'm drunk... after watching the Cotto fight..... It seems that Cotto improved his chances at pointing with Pacquiao... That first round was questionably but after Cotto adjusted in the later rounds, did we see a small preview of a Pac PBF fight? Was Cotto just trying to survive? How well do you think Pac would match up with the style of PBF? Cotto landed some clean shots throughout the match, backpeddling-wise (on the defense) did you see something (besides me) that would make you think PBF would have a tough time if a possible match would happen? Adjustsments were a key/footwork

    Discuss my fellow brethrens

I actually thought that Pac found it very difficult to catch the backpeddling Cotto and finish him off, this makes me think he will find it much more difficult to catch a mayweather that's on his bike. Unless Mayweather trades or gets trapped I still (unforunately) see a M victory

me thinks.. the right jab and footwork
it's crazy man as a pure boxing fan to see the adjustment....Cotto did better when I saw his footwork; pbf would do that the whole match... but would we see the adjustment from Pac other than the opposition just ad******g to see Pac being outpointed/ win rounds?

I still see vital flaws in Pacmans style.

He is controlled and calm, but still has a wild streak.

    Defenceless against a good jab.

I noticed Pacman not following his game plan after receiving some hard accurate jabs, I expect the same if he fights PBF, possibly worse.

I dont see Pac beating Floyd. Floyd is just as fast, longer reach, more accurate puncher, better counter puncher, defence is just too brilliant, will keep his cool the entire fight and most importantly, he is smarter.

My prediction: PBF UD. PBF will counter and potshot manny to death.

Cotto was just trying to survive later in the fight, yes. I mean, he was trying to win rounds, but the principal goal was to avoid exchanges.

Pac let him hang around for a few rounds then went for the kill in the 12th. Reminded me of Calzaghe-Jones.

Cotto's style in the second half of the fight was similar to what he did for the last 4 rounds against Mosley.

indeed aaron and paul.^^.. the jab is a good weapon and I still see it that way.. when Pac was chasing Cotto.. i didn't see much of a change with Pac other than him cutting the ring off and pointing on Cotto... If he can do the same on Pbf/ which I doubt.. the question now isn't about whether or not if Pac can take full-fledged WW punch but whether or not he can catch his opponents with a highly regarded defense.....

    cutting the ring and cornering...

At times Cotto was outboxing Pac and making him miss. I believe this is a glimpse of what will happen should he fight Mayweather.

Agreed. There was one time where Pac lunged really badly and I thought "that will get him check-hooked against PBF." And PBF has 5" more of reach than Cotto. And is faster.

Floyd is a fighter first off. Pac WILL tag him , and when that happens he will fight back. Floyd has been blessed to fight against guys who couldn't exploit this. They will catch each other; NO BULL****. When that happens the better man will win.

So what you are saying is PBF will be lured into a brawl and go off his game plan? You are joking right?

Floyd sticks to a gameplan like flies on ****, he is NEVER lured into a brawl.

Floyd would loose a decision backpeddaling all night like that, he has throw punches at some point and thats where Pac will catch him.

Why? Floyd is just as quick & sharp at landing and moving, plus he's got a 5" reach advantage and arguably a better estimate & understanding of range. He's more than capable of boxing off the back foot for periods.

Floyd Mayweather has quicker defensive reflexes than Pacquiao, he does not throw punches as quickly.

In any case, Floyd doesn't move his body like he should anymore; he relies on head movement much too much. That's suicide against a fast, unpredictable and powerful combination puncher like Pacquiao.
