Bad blood....Eubank, Collins, Benn interviews, updated.

Benn v Eubank was a classic bad blood match-up.

 

Also, Barrera-Morales was the **** in the bad blood stakes.

 

And of course Ali-Frazier.:good

Lewis completely owned Rahman in the build up to the 2nd fight really.

At the time it looked like Rahman was winning all the battles in the pressers and stuff - not that it means much in most fights... but many thought Lewis was done and was asking for another KO loss.

Strange how things turned out. His career is almost better off for that shocking loss and the subsequent rematch (and the Klit fight and Vitali's achievements), than simply beating contender after contender before giving it away with a record of say 43-1.

 

Hearing about them growing up, Zamora-Zarate and Duran-Viruet (Duran beat both brothers and allegedly clocked Edwins wife post-fight) were the stuff of legends

 

I'm not sure it was ''bad blood'' but Tyson brought Panama Lewis in as an advisor for the Lewis fight.....

More scare tactics I guess, which he was reduced to at that time.

I don't really recall what people's thoughts were about the fight, but I recall telling everyone during study leave that Lewis would smash him, to no avail. Would be interested to know what the odds were.

 

Lewis was the clear betting favourite. I remember I got £100 at Evens off a mate who was a Tyson fan and could have easily covered my bet at the bookies (I didn't bother).

 

Duran - Leonard? Dunno if you can say it was 'bad blood' but Duran had a real hard-on for SRL.

On Leonard.... I guess most opponents hated him. Barring perhaps Ali, he might have been the original Silver Spoon of boxing.

 

I can't remember the pts/ stoppage options but Lewis was 4/6 near the fight. A few experts picked Tyson in the week running up to the fight (IIRC Barry Mac in the Daily Mirror was one of them) and that affected the market.
