No. It was absolutely no coincidence that Don King's stars Trinidad and Holyfield both got their biggest gifts in the same year against Oscar and Lewis.
in the states no, anywhere else in the world Lewis would be the bigger star but Holy was slightly past his best, and Lewis was at his prime, so he should be considered the bigger name at the time
de la hoya-mosley 2....still have no clue how that happened taylor vs hopkins? not sure who was the bigger star but i assume hopkins was meant to win and extend his streak
Don't think the Hopkins one counts as Taylor was already being groomed by HBO as a potential cash cow and was already quite a big name by the time he fought Hopkins.
DeLaHoya - Trinidad is the only one that comes to mind. Who would have ever thought that The Golden Boy wouldn't get the decision he deserved?
The difficulty of coming up with a good example (other than Oscar -- Tito) in this thread doesn't bode well for Tim Bradley. He needs to beat Pacquiao as badly as Terry Norris beat Ray Leonard to get the decision.
yeah I feel like Morales got the short end of the stick a lot. Morales-Diaz wtf? Depending on what you are looking at you can give morales like 9 rounds in that fight for clearly landed shots and muting ineffective aggression I felt like Madaina Morales was another fight where the bigger name guy simply didn't get the benefit of the doubt. Pac-Marquez I I think.
