I scored it awhile ago I had it 7-5 Foreman but I could possibly see a draw at a stretch as their was 2 debatable rounds from memory. I can't see Briggs actually winning the fight though no way there is 7 rounds you can objectively give to Briggs.

On a side note Schultz vs Foreman was a far worse decision I had that 8-4 for Schultz. And Foreman vs Savarese was another close decision that could've gone against Foreman aswell I only had Foreman winning that by a point.

So it's not like Foreman didn't benefit himself from a few controversial decision in 90s Stewart, Savarese, Schultz.

You can't keep scrapping by and expecting to always win a close decision sometimes it will go against you. Plus Foreman wasn't going to defend against any top Heavyweight at his age so it was probably better he lost he title via controversial decision. As Foreman left the sport gracefully and the Heavyweight division could carry on as normal between the younger guys.

Conlan vs Nitikin in the Olympics. I scored round 1 and 3 to Nitikin.

    I agree.

Interestingly, Nikitin certainly got a gift one round earlier, against Thai southpaw Butdee - and I never heard anyone talk about it. That's marketing for you, Conlan did great job selling his loss as a robbery, got that viral photo, then Top Rank used it to promote him and it stuck.

There's a certain magic in being bold. Thanks for the inspiration and reminder.

Holyfield-Ruiz I. Holyfield put some methodical beating on him. When I watched it at the sports bar, that night, grown men were crying about the decision.. acting out, like, wrenching their shirts.

I haven't scored this in a while, but I never had a problem with Leonard-Hearns II - even though Hearns is my favorite fighter of all time and Leonard one of my least favorite (though I respect him a great deal and consider him possibly the second-best pound-for-pound fighter of my lifetime).

Not clear, but I don't have an issue with this decision.

Yes, this fight was closer than people remember; I also re-scored at one point and found my scoring close to the judges.

An excellent point. People (and I used to be guilty of this, too!) use the term "robbery" too loosely - even in fights where the majority of observers think the right guy won (e.g. Leonard vs. Hagler). Like in law, we should use a "reasonable man" standard here: As in, a robbery is when no reasonable person thinks the right guy won.

I agreed with referee Harold Valan's decision declaring Jimmy Ellis the winner over Floyd Patterson. Floyd wasn't busy enough for me, especially in the later rounds. He fought in flashy spurts which weren't all that effective, as I recall. I watched the fight again a couple of years ago and I came to the same conclusion as when I watched it at the time.
