After 3 weeks of not training, I decided to return to they gym yesterday and train. Boy, did I ever feel bad. I sparred with one of the trainers there and I rarely hit him. I felt slower and I felt that I got tired easily. Unlike before, I could give them fits and have an easier time hitting them, yesterday was really bad. I felt stupid as there were many people watching us spar. Then when it was time to do some puch mitts, I was really slow. I felt really bad when I got home. Just wanted to share this to you guys. And also, what do you usually do to get back in shape and how long does it take you??

Getting back in shape always takes longer than falling out of shape unfortunately. I just run or go to cycling classes 5 times a week in addition to my boxing. It usually takes a week or so for me to get back into the swing of things. Although I've never taken off more than about 5 days without at least running.

Don't worry about it, just stick in there, it's much easier to re-learn something than it is to learn it in the first place.

Why you sparring your first day after taking 3 weeks off?
