Bad feelings about what happened to Big Nog tonight.

Big Nog has a high thresh hold for pain... I think Mir did what he had to do. I didn't like the fact that he come in dry and cold. He looked tight.

 

I think Mir is a more versatile striker than Nogueira, and I think Mir has an advantage in power. I still contend Nogueira's edge in boxing is enough for me to consider him the better stand up fighter. I don't consider boxing to be the better stand up style, I just think Nogueira is better at finding his range and capitalizing. Mir fought Zombie Nog in the first fight, and caught Nogueira backing up in a straight line.

As far as the breaking of the arm goes, it was necessary. Nogueira would not have tapped otherwise. I thought it was going to happen whan Mir first went for it. Nogueira surprised me with the roll, but I knew it would happen when Mir wound up on top. I didn't think Nogueira would tap at all, and he didn't until you saw his arm snap.

An opponent not tapping to a kimura is the same as an opponent not tapping to a choke. Opponents that fail to tap for a choke go unconscious. Fighters that fail to tap to a kimura end up with something broken.

He had to do it Nog wasn't tapping he had that locked in and extended to breaking point for a few seconds and Nog wasn't even thinking about it. Don't even think he tapped after it snapped. Even with Nog you can't give him a millimeter in those locks or he would of found a way out. Mir did what he had to do. Unfortunate because Nog looked great before and I think should of stopped it with the GNP

This could end Nogueira's career. Sad to see it end this way but it is somewhat poetic that he go out to a nice submission.

 

Mir looked like a shot fighter in the stand up he has no movement with the extra weight.

 

Too bad Nog had all his excuses last time it would have saved him a broken arm, Now mir was the first guy to ktfo and sub him. Karma goes a long way and Nog got what he deserved, but mir was lucky to not get finished himselfm like people above said he came in cold and stiff and was lucky Nog went for the choke, he could have kept punching for the finish

 

This isn't ringette, every submission is a possible arm break and until nog taps(which he never had until tonight) you don;t give up on it.

I felt that the Ref somewhat cost Nog this fight. Nog was pummeling Mir and the ref kept saying "watch theback of the head" repeatedly wtf???

So the natural reaction was to stop, when it was obvious that the shots were to the side of the head and Mir was trying to block it with the back of his head. That fight could have been over.

Anyway, great showing by Mir on the ground, I ve always thought him as one of the best pre accident and hes never lost it.

 

Frank Mir was done in this fight.

Nog should have done what everyone else who's hurt Mir have done and just beat him up with strikes until he goes to sleep. atsch
