Bad feelings about what happened to Big Nog tonight.

    I like Nog but how can´t you say it`s the refs fault Mir showed great heart. This fight is the grappling equivalent to Kongo-Barry. I hope Minotauro wasn`t to brave and has to end his career.
    Mir has lost his chin if he had fought against Dos Santos, Velasquez or Overeem he would probably still be unconscious. I overestimated his striking becouse of the Kongo fight and he should lose some weight 245-250 was the perfect weight for him but I don`t think he will be champion again his chin is getting worse

    To hear mir champion an injury like that and even say he trains for it is ****ing hardcore. This is pushing the boundries of mainstream fighting.

    big nog looked better than his brother did imo, even though he lost. his striking was really good.
    he lost it because of two mistakes.

    i expected him to start raining down blow after blow[as fighters do] on frank's head when he had him on the ground, but he didn't. no idea why he didn't, seemed to give that up so quickly.
    the second mistake was deciding to go for the choke.

    if he'd of done what he always does[gnp] i'm positive he would of won the bout.

    I don't think he'll have much of a choice, to be honest. It'd be nearly impossible for him to fully recover from that injury and have any kind of career at this stage.

    When a 260lb guy with good JJ isolates your arm like that you better tap. Otherwise.....well you see what happens if you don't. Too tough for his own good.

    Nog was a few hammerfists away from winning, but he tried to get fancy...then he didn't want to tap until it was way too late...he did great things for the sport, and will always get my respect, but mir isn't a guy to do that with, imo

    In all honesty, as bad as I felt for Nog, he would've known exactly what was going on and he knew exactly what Mir's intentions were. He didn't tap and he paid the price. It's a genuine shame, but it comes with the sport. Nog knows what's up.

    What was Mir supposed to do? You have to wait for the ref to step in and stop it. Nog didn't tap so Mir was doing the right thing by cranking it more until he did tap, or his arm broke, whichever comes first. If the shoe on the other foot no one would be feeling bad for Mir they would be praising Big Nogs sub. I don't like Mir and I hate that stupid look he has on his face 24/7 but he did nothing wrong last night. He just did his job.

    I'm really not into this attitude where it's cool to break someones' limb. MMA is a sport, not street warfare. Mir never held that sub to even wait and see if Nog would tap, he purposefully went straight for the break. MMA is never going to become mainstream (Olympics, NYC license) while this attitude still exists. I'm not going to get into a big argument with all you veteran badasses over it, just saying I think what Mir did was wrong and the reaction to it is wrong. The UFC need to work on changing the mentality of MMA fighters and fans IMO.

    it's so high level that if you don't explode your sub you risk losing it...nog had plenty of time to tap...mir cranked it several times...don't blame mir for nog's bravado

    This. Nog would've been there thousands of times in training, and he would've known exactly how far his limb would bend before it snapped. It's not Mir's fault Nog didn't tap. It's unfortunate and it reflects badly on the sport, but it's not the first time it's happened and it won't be the last.

    I still dont understand why the fight was kept going after Mir was clearly out. His hands where as far from his head as they could be and he blocked punches with his head whilst staring at the ground
