    He was deffo being extra twattish last night. Maybe Fox are pushing for a different commentary team and he was trying too hard or something but he was pissing me the **** off.

    Let me guess, Jason Miller would have subbed that overrated Sakuraba guy too because he has always had better technique? :patsch

    Just because old time BJJ guys sub all of the novices in a gym does not mean that a fighters age does not matter in BJJ. Big Nog has never been in top top shape but quickness, limberness and confidence still play a big part in grappling, cmon man! When was Big Nog's last sub even?

    Nog knew that but went out on his shield. He will not fight again. It looked like a spiral snap to me which is pretty bad. It may need multiple surgeries and will never be 100% again :verysad

    I don't like seeing anyone's arm get broken either, but you can't reasonably expect the ref to jump in and stop the fight as soon as someone has been in an armbar for 1 second. Nog had the opportunity to realize "oh ****, I'm stuck, if I don't tap I'm gonna get my arm broke."

    But he didn't tap out when he was trapped. He rolled and fruitlessly tried to escape, and in doing so he locked himself in tighter and that was it, the arm was broken.

    I don't have time or energy to argue with a boring ***** like you. I don't believe a peak Nogueira gets submitted by Frank Mir. Not got much else to say.

    I hope this happens. I like Mir, but a bit of just desserts is on the menu for him soon. JDS would ****ing shatter his face into a zillion pieces.

    And how exactly is Frank Mir going to get Junior on the mat? He has no chance, he'd get punched into oblivion within a minute.

    I think I was maybe being a bit bitter about what happened to Nog when I made this thread. So ****, the man is one of my heroes. And I still think Mir (with a 20lbs+ weight advantage) could have held that sub for a bit longer to give Nog the chance to tap, but he went straight for the break IMO. I still like Frank as a fighter but in my opinion (and I'm not interested in debating this further) his actions were low/wrong. But hey, the world keeps spinning. I'm looking forward to seeing him fight again.

    I agree. JDS is an awful matchup for Mir. Ironically, Lesnar regaining the belt might be Mir's best shot at possibly regaining it. Overeem also would be a bad stylistic Matchup for Mir. Lesnar seems to be not the same fighter after his bouts with diverticultiis - a serious illness that in extreme cases can curtail your life. A full strength Lesnar probably again ragdolls Mir and handily defeats him. But Lesnar's status now is huge question mark. The Overeem fight will reveal a lot.

    When he tapped Sylvia , a weak grappler :deal , what was that 4 fights or so ago ???

    The man got bested on the ground by a superior grappler for that particular exchange , it has absolutely **** all to do with peak condition , Mir is long past his peak condition for grappling purposes , the man when he was a pure grappler (with next to no stand up) was 220 lb's , he's 260 now :deal

    Nogueira got submitted by a better grappler on the night , simple as that !!!
