Bad gameplan from Donaire

Donaire can't go much low because he is already tall against a much smaller fighter. It should be the other way around, but narvaez sucks

 

How would you perceive Mayweather to fight Clottey?

 

This. Even though he did have a good defensive fighter, no excuses when you are at that level of the game. Clash of styles presented problems for Donaire, where he is used to being the counter puncher and use his speed to counter and power to get guys out of there, Navaez wasnt giving him that opportunity.

 

Navarez pretty much had to fight like that, Donaire was 1 1/2 times his size.

 

The fight looked like a training mitt session, Omar would take the combos on the gloves and Donaire was throwing right at them like targets, then Omar would step around in no hurry and it would start all over again. While it is hard to fight a guy who isn't interested in fighting, I do agree with Lederman that he could have tried more to the body to open up that guard some. But then again he was so much bigger than Omar in the ring he may have been afraid he would be open for a looping counter if he went downstairs, who knows, boring fight, blowout win, now Arum needs to put him in with somebody who will compete if he wants Donaire to become another cash cow.

I now wonder how those other fighters from bantam would fair up against him.

 

People say he should have opened up on the body, but he already received 2 warnings on low blows as he was landing near the belt.

After that all you saw was a 1 dimensional attack on the guard.

 

Yup, these people here seem to underestimate Narvaez a lot as if he's just some tomato can. They should understand that popularity doesn't mean you're the best. :-(
