I know many fighters and they all know read and write very well, and many of them have high education.I see that you think fighters are stupid .High level boxing is not stupid game,it is very clever game.I listened hundred of times George Foreman and Roy Jones on HBO and they are great speakers and i think they are not stupid at all.

This is what makes me and other real UK boxing fans like Addie different from my fellow islanders like Headbanger and Bailey:

    (from Classic thread, http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7528269#post7528269)

You see, guys like Headbanger and Bailey do not understand this point of view. They are victim to a tribal, insular mentality. They are not boxing fans, which is patently obvious from their posts on boxing, which never include any real knowledge or insight on the sport - they use boxing to promote their own, and to propagate some ancient, archaic feud between different nationalities and different cultures.

Headbanger actually uses a Marvin Hagler avatar to deflect his latent anti-Americanism, and obsessively promotes himself in order to deflect his very obvious lack of boxing knowledge and understanding.

If you think I am exaggerating about Headbanger and Bailey, do a search and see the percentage of their posts which are about tired petty little UK vs US bitching matches. They do not exist to do anything else on this forum.

In short, we let ourselves down every time we interact with such cretins. The world has moved on from their mentality. Let them go wild with their emoticons and desperate, infantile proclamations of supremacy, and go talk boxing with real fans. There are plenty of us around. :good

I think most of the real journalists do a pretty good job. Hausser, Rafeal, the boys at B scene, et, make some incorrect picks like we all do, and somtimes Rafeal opens his mouth and a turd falls out, but over all the real journalists do a good job.

It's the pretenders who write for web sites anyone can write for that are irritating. There are a couple of web sites out there that obviously do not check facts or excersize editorial discretion.

Boxing journalists suck because they are journalists. You have a complete different perspective on what you are watching unfold before you when you have actually stood across from a man. The problem is that 99% of the people who call themselves "fans" of boxing never get even a little boxing instruction let alone step in a ring and do a little work. So the BS journalists' opinion resonates with them.

It would be cool if the guys actually manned up and wrote retraction articles or gave props. Most of those media types just continue to rant wrong or not.

even most fighters know **** all about boxing.

So many fighters thought Pac would lose to Cotto and Oscar.

MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW **** ABOUT BOXING.

I think those who know most about boxing are the trainers, but even then alot of them don't know **** about boxing

    :smoke

    See Roger Mayweather's Pac/Cotto prediction.

I am a boxing journalist, and am a bit confused. In this post, ill just speak from my own experience and about myself. Sure, I don't know everything about boxing, I know a fraction. But one think the creator of this topic needs to understand, is that when writing a piece, I don't always go based on ANY fact. There are many types of articles as well. If we are predicting, its from our personal opinions. If we are reporting on a fight that just happened, we are stating a given, etc... Remember a lot of these prediction pieces, will always come from personal brainstorming opinions. Some people go based on fact. Some on personal deduction. How can you predict a fight, when there is nothing that you can prove will cause a win/a loss. You tell yourself what if, and then another what if, and then you make a final statement. These are all guesses.
