First time I have started a thread in here in years, but Scottys back, can you blame me for being on such a high that I feel 32 years old again?(age I was when my hero Scotty last fought)

However, to get back on track. Firstly the main event, and I had picked Appleby to win inside the distance. Why I hear you ask? Let me tell you why. Any older member of this place maybe remembers me putting my house on wee simmy time after time, year after year. And how John Simpson repaid my faith with many "upset" victories! Then Billy Nelson arrived, & went on about how he wanted to see Simmy move down to super-bantam as he would be better down there, he was too small at feather you see. Then Selby broke Simpson in half, & Billys statement rang true in my ears.

So much so that for the first time ever, I picked Simmy to be stopped, as leaving Billy AND moving up in weight? Simpson had to be on the slippery slope to boxing oblivion. Just before the fight started, theres Apples, looking huge next to a typically scrawny Simmy, & I nodded smugly to myself for listening to Billys wise inside knowledge about how Simmy shouldnt be anywhere NEAR super feather! HOW ****ING WRONG WAS I.

Simmy looked like a fighter reborn as he dismantled his domestic nemesis.

Which takes me onto the main course, a certain Scott Harrison. The one. The ****in only. My hero. 7 years out of the ring, & looked bigger. faster. stronger(if possible) & with his father sitting alongside Scott, Scott basically said he was gunning for the Rickster. Once again due to Scottys inactivity & hanging on Billys every word here, I have doubted Scotts ability to beat Ricky Burns, as Billy has told us all here that Scotty would have NO chance against this Ricky Burns, the world champion.

    HOWEVER.

After tonight, when one of Billys ain fighters got pasted by a fighter who 'fled the nest' can Billys boxing insight be trusted to the extent it once was on here from scottish boxing fans????

**** Haye Chisora people, cos if Scotty Harrison wins his next couple of comeback fights? This story is going to be THE british boxing rivalry to finish them all!!!

Scott & his da the masters vs Billy & the Rickster the students... The history to this mother of all scottish dust-ups puts even haye Chisora into the shade...

The Real McCoy is back!!! WAR Harrison.

Like Dunky, Scott is my hero. I remember the nights at the Braehead. Wee Davey Haggerty belting out Flower of Scotland. Scott when on form smashing people to bits in methodical and economical fashion.

I can remember first watching him beat Patrick Mullings, and Tracy Patterson. The kid was a beast, a technically sound, war mongering beast!.

    :happy.

peter harrison and his team look like they have created a monster, hope they do well. scott looked liked he had never been away. ok not a great opponent, but you can only fight wots put in front of you.
danny lee has got the best out of simpson, brilliant. fitness and boxing wise.
billy nelson has got alot to prove that he is not riding on other trainers fighters that have turned.billy is a good trainer, but great.....maybe beginning to believe his own hype imo

remeber folks, its on record that Scotts father Peter wouldnt allow a young Ricky Burns even to spar with his son Scott as he thought the Rickster didnt deserve to share the same ring as his prodical son...

See why I am calling it a scottish Haye-Chisora:deal

I just heard he won his comeback fight and i think i'm just excited as you mate. Never saw it but glad he is back. Do you think he'll be able to make an impact at lightweight at 34 years old?

I wonder if he will pick up where he left off and be able to get into fighting the calibre of opponent we should have seen him fight.

Put it this way my good man, Scotty looked bigger, stronger, & most importantly FASTER than he ever did in his featherweight days. Add to that Scottys ability to cut off the ring? In my opinion? Hes like a sequel. Bigger & better than the first:smoke

Floyd Pattersns adopted son that is.

Heard somewhere they fell out and Floyd no longer worked with him. Never found out what happened further down the line or if they ronconciled before Floyds death.

I hope they did, would be sad to hear if they didn't. Not a bad fighter in his own right.
