From what I saw last night and the obvious 7 years away from the ring drinking and sitting in a cell the truth is Ricky Burns would make Harrison look silly, it would be rather embarrassing to watch. it's a mismatch in every department and I am surprised it's even being mentioned. Harrison is too old, too slow and too ruined to last more than a few rounds before he quits, get stopped or more likely his corner have to pull him out. Yes it's sad and in his day Harrison was a great little fighter but let's be realistic, his trainer saying "Is Ricky ready for Scott" was probably the most ridiculas comment i've heard in quite a while.
Hopefully burns vs Harrison can be made after burns beats Mitchell. Not cos Harrison deserves it but because Ricky would jab his head ouff for 12 rounds and that is the least this waste of oxygen deserves
Billy, of course I dont have access to as much info as you, for I am but a humble fan. However, I was just thinking out loud, and while Im thinking, I have to ask what were YOU thinking when you wanted Simpson to drop down in weight, especially after he crushed apples like that when he left you and moved up! You accuse me of lacking boxing knowledge for questioning you, but even you must admit Mr Nelson that advising Simpson to move down to super-bantam when the laddie looks like a beast at super-feather... I could throw the same accusation right back at you, as its a pretty glaring error for a know it all trainer like yourself to make
Just a wee attempt at humour after some scots lad lit their *** on the olympic torch the other week Friedsock my good man!
Hopefully not, & that build has been a result of hitting the weights in prison. I saw a documetary some time ago, another scottish lad who was in prison and had a ridiculous build, cos all he had to do inside to pass the time was hit the weights in the gym. When Scotty was released, he was pictured with his top off built like a tank a few days after.
Ach I know, but cut me some slack Wid! Look, the young lad was a late replacement, & this was always about Scotty getting back 'into the groove' Have to disagree with you Wid about Scotty looking awful, for a man out for several years that was a great comeback. Buncey thought so, Smigga thought so, the crowd thought so, so dont be such a spoilsport, hasnt life just became more interesting now that the teak tough tartan terror is back? I think so:yep
:thumbsup, no worrys dunk, you keep up the love for scotty, glad he is back for you :happy :smooch be good :thumbsup
McCafferty talking **** again. When Harrison was having his troubles, you dropped him like a hot potato.
Probably, but with Scotland having a relatively short list of world champions past and present I'd like to think otherwise. I'll be supporting him and I'll do my best to get to his next fight. He looked a little slow but what do we expect after 6 years out of the ring? In any case speed was never a weapon Harrison used to great effect. It was his constant pressure and thudding power that did for most of his opponents and he showed that on Saturday night.
