I cant understand Scotts comment no lightweight will take his power,an 18 year old novice got up 4 time and to be fair never really seemed to hurt although he would have just took more punishment. Alittle delutional if you ask me
No its not glaring at all my good man! John made 9st quite easy compared to others thats why we were thinking of going down to SBW,john thought the FW on the night were too big, john done what he had to on friday,Paul told me on saturday he wasnt feeling well on the morning of the fight, now we know it was dehydration, its still my opinion john is a great fighter and can match anybody in the UK.
Watching it now .Got to admit Simpson moving down had me aswell .I read his boxingnews online interview and remember the hardest part of his training was making 126 but making weight is probably hardest for most fighters anyway .This article is good . Dropping down to a lower weight class, does not guarantee an advantage. Often the strength you sacrifice in dropping weight negates any possible benefit that you mentally convince yourself you will have. You would be better off coming into the ring feeling strong, fresh, and fully hydrated at a higher weight class. Entering the ring dehydrated is not only detrimental to performance, it is extremely dangerous. Your risk of injury skyrockets when the body is dehydrated. http://www.rossboxing.com/thegym/thegym2.htm
Simpson is just simply the better fighter Billy, surely even through your bias you can see that. Since they're first fight (which was really close) Appleby has declined rapidly and Simpson has improved IMO.
John is a great wee fighter ive told people on here that for 2 years, some decisions hes had have been nothing short of shocking.:good
of course I got angry with how he threw it all away, he was my boxing hero FFS, how do you expect me to react Bratty? Im still angry to this day about how he ****ed it all up, after all I predicted he was going to go on and become Scotlands second greatest boxer of all time behind Ken Buchanan, I certainly think he had the potential to beat a Chi or a Marquez or that **** Guzman, but he pissed it all away... However, against all odds somehow hes back & looking good! Dont ask me how but he is... So Im on having some fun posting again & having a wee laugh winding up the wind up merchant himself Billy Nelson, cos I think Scotty is going to become a thorn in his and Ricky Burns side in the coming months Everyone deserves a second chance in life, & if my favourite ever fighter Scotty is back? Of course Im going along for the ride! Does that mean I would want him to beat Ricky Burns though if they finally fight? The answer would have to be no. I couldnt cheer against the Rickster. Not even if it was Scotty facing him... so I hope the fight never happens.
cheers for the info Mr N, TBH I was shocked at how good Simmy looked, I dont think anyone could have saw that coming to be fair after the Selby fight. On a side note, I heard that Simpsons fans were a disgrace on the night, all pissed out of their heads & acting hard, shouting dogs abuse and ruining the night for the decent fans that were unlucky enough to be seated close to them. The simmy fans comment wasnt aimed at you Billy, just for anyone reading in general! Someone I know who went along as a neutral said he was wanting Applebey to win, just cos Simpsons fans were such a bunch of knobends!
My opinion is if someone turns up to boxing with a drink in them they shouldnt get in,coz people think there 50 men with a drink in them and spoil the night for others,to be fair i never heard anything about trouble in the crowd
exactly billy, nobody wants to see a group of drunks spoils the night, need a system set up, something like you must be sober when you go in,properly searched, you get a card that allows you to have 2 pints, get it stamped each time you order one,not a perfect plan but an idea.
Thoughts on both fights. Harrison I think will be like Robin Reid stuck at domestic level, he looked ok but he will struggle with Murray, Rees, Crolla, Matthews. Maybe they could get a fight with the IBO guy that Matthews got stopped against, Marsili? Appleby needs a break and complete change in the way he thinks in the ring. I thought he lost to Ormond quite clearly last to out aswell. He has great ability but cant seem to use it for 10/12 rounds without getting into a tear up.
Totally agree, some of the fans there on Friday night were wasted and should never have got into the building, always a minority ruining it for the rest of us though.
It'll be a crime if John never gets a European title shot. Should've had one ages ago. Fegatilli is there for the taking imo.
