Absolute nonsense, look at how Gonzalez and Rigondeaux plant the front heel and move their upper body to stay in range to punch while defending. Why can't you plant the front foot and push off (so the heel comes off with enough force) to move around? When you're punching you simply need to plant the front heel to produce power. You don't understand movement if you claim otherwise.
Sitting on a punch means planting your feet, bending your knees and your hips. Who said anything about bending the back? You're clueless. As in weightlifting you want to utilise the triple extension of the hips, knees and ankles to produce power. If you're on your toes when you're punching you're eliminating the ankle and the hips. If you're on your toes when punching you have less contact with the ground, that means your balance is worse, that means you can't produce as much impulse into the ground. That is a scientific fact, but as we know you don't exactly have a grasp or respect of science. And as I've repeatedly said, all you or anyone else who agrees with you has to do is look at what the best punchers do when they punch.
You both are right. You can punch by having flat feet or on your toes. If you're moving around and trying to evade punches then you need to be on your toes.nIf you are trying to gain ground or are in an exchange with your opponent then you need to be flat footed. Not every punch needs to be a knockout punch but at the same time you can't be dancing around the whole time. You have more speed as well when on toes but less power. You have more power but less speed when flat footed. Try it out and you'll know what I'm talking about.
On your toes is an expression used in boxing to mean the ***** of your feet. thats what Dago was meaning
If you're on your toes and punching then you're doing something wrong, every time you are punching you need to plant your feet. That doesn't mean you sacrifice movement, it takes a millisecond to move from flat footed to the ***** of your feet. S**** is saying that you should remain on the ***** of your feet at all times, which is blatantly wrong if you care about proper movement and having any power.
Let me ask what you exactly mean by planting your feet? I only ask because i asked a few guys in my gym what it meant and i got about 3 different interpretations all off well experienced boxers. And as theres nothing in the dictionary to refer to a universal meaning i think it needs to be estabished. BTW iv always taken it to mean the total of the feet (toes ***** and heels) all in contact and flat to the floor. Im assuming thats your interpretation but please clarify. Also i dont agree when you say " if your on the toes(*****) of your feet as your punching youf doing someting wrong. What about when the intention behind the shot is to keep opp occupied and guessing whilst commanding the range for example a triple or double jab whilst circling or whats often called a pawing jab these types of shots are ok whilst moving on your toes imo
DW is saying that the more contact you've with the floor the better your balance and stronger the punch.
It might be for pushing weights up and down, but not for sports where there is bilateral movement, theres the problem.
