Joe Cortez has had many less than stellar performances One of the worst was in the
Kirk Johnson- John Ruiz debacle. Every time Kirk hit Ruiz to the body Ruiz cried foul
Cortez duly obliged by warning Johnson. The fight ended up with Johnson getting DQ'd when Oscar worthy acting by Ruiz convinced Cortez he'd been fouled. We watched that fight in slow motion MOST of the supposed "fouls" were perfectly legal body shots including the final one for the DQ. Cortez supposedly saw all those "fouls" but faied to notice the continual holding ,mauling & head butting Ruiz was doing. One butt was the most blatant I think I've ever seen. My buddy that watched the tapes with us summed it up best when he said " I think that referee must have selective sight""

Randy Neumann calling 2 knockdowns on Wlad, from Sam Peters blatant rabbit punches. They should have been points taken from Peter instead.

Almost forgot how bad Golota/Byrd was. Golota made Byrd take a knee at least 3 times with body punches. Stupid ass ref never called it.
