I see alot of people complain about the scoring of fights and what not.. Not here to play devils advocate or anything but it seems to me a key fundamental fact is being down played. How many here actually take into account the different point of view the judge has from your own? I know from my own personal experience that one can witness a near completely different fight just from sitting on another side of the ring. Judge A and B perhaps may have saw a clean landing right hand, however Judge C may have seen what appeared to be a blocked and well absorbed punch.
Very true and then there is human error. I think judges should be behind a monitor instead of ringside. This will take away some of the confusion that happens when a fighter throws a flurry and crowd cheers, when nothing actually landed. Hometown fighters feed off this alot. These judges aren't trained specialist. They are merely guys with connections within the sport.
i think most people on boxing forums suck at scoring fights in general and are easily influenced by commentating.
It was close fight, but Judah lost in there. Lucas came on too late and let Zab have a chance. Judah will be beat up bad by the winner of Alexander-Bradley.
Still, when it comes to scoring a fight, the professional judges are even worse than average fans. I do not remember anyone here thinking Tua won clearly with Barrett, and somehow judge Joseph Pasquale had him 115:111. Or last night, when Johson was controlling the fight comfortably... yet it turned out it was the stoppage which saved him from another "loss" as 2 of 3 judges saw Green winning the fight.
