I always liked Badou but at 41 years old and way over his natural fighting weight, I don't see him as a top ten guy let alone a belt holder. He has made some really smart decisions fighting almost exclusively in the middle east the last few years where he is very popular. I think Jai and Ramirez both destroy him. Good for him if he can get one last payday.

For what it's worth, he is still a great body puncher.

WBC and WBA competing to see who can be the shadiest organization.

Jack vs Pulev at Catchweight. Book it! Winner gets Fres Oquendo.

Even at his best Badou Jack was nothing special.

By all means an overachiever, yet he was still really good. He was criminally underrated after loosing to Edwards via KO in 1. He was then labeled as a glass jaw American hypejob.
But just a year later he upset Anthony Dirrell and easily outboxed him to win the WBC belt. Followed this with an upset over Groves.

He has a spectacular career, all things considered. But most of his fights ended up being as even as they could be. Thus all of the close scorecards and draws.
I really like Jack, but that Makabu fight was a lucky one for him. Everything just went perfect.
